Ten Commandants

Do you believe; we as Christians have a obligation to obey the Ten Commandants?

I know and will say that obedience of the Ten Commandants will not bring Salvation to you; you will NOT be saved by that obedience.

So with that said; I ask again, do Christians have a obligation to obey the Ten Commandants?

I have preached, taught Sunday School ( the class was the oldest people in church, I had and have several sites online.

Almost all the one’s asked said “ Y E S “ and I have people in my S.S. Class that said I know them and I have them memorized. Yet as soon as church is over they are out breaking one of the Commandants.

I have asked one and got this answer “ So; I am a poor example “. For a Christian to say that is not a good thing.

The easiest Commandant to keep and is not even tried to be kept. We have six other days in the week to do what we want to.

Exodus 20:10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.

Sabbath means rest — the Jews use Sabbath and the Christians use the Lord’s Day.

Yet it is said if it was not for Christians the restaurants would have to shut on Sundays. We like to make others work so we don’t???

All the Ten Commandants are in the N.T. in some way and handled as in the O.T. and Jesus kept them. God is suppose to be our Heavenly Father and we can’t even try to honor Him in obedience.

By not even trying we lose out on many blessings and if enough in a church is doing the same thing they even lose blessings for the church because the church is condoning it.

It seems the Christian can not distinguish the difference between necessity and pleasure.

Is their an answer to this, I don’t know. I have gave explanations and Scripture in class and most will nod the heads in agreement and even vocal agreement. What happens after they leave church? They head out to disobey God.

I find this particular Commandant is the easiest one to obey. So if the easiest one is broken then what about the other nine? I do not see very many that often outside of church so I don’t know what they do.

If we can’t honor God outside of church then when we cone to church and talk about honor, we become hypocrites.

Think before you do and always try to bring honor and glory to God first. We are not perfect and will never be perfect until we go home to the Lord but we sure should try to obey. If we try; God through the Spirit will give us what we need to do it. At some point we will fall short no matter what but that is no excuse not to try.
