Pride

I am sorry I have not been on here for awhile but some water went under the bridge in all directions and in two weeks I will be missing again but hope to be on a regular schedule then.

Pride

Me, myself and I — the greatest army in the world.

We so many times think we are the greatest and break our arm patting ourselves on the back.

Only to find out later you blew it.

Matthew 23:12

For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

Mark 9:35

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.”

Mark 12:38-40

As he taught, Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely.”

Luke 1:51

He has performed mighty deeds with his arm; he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.

Romans 12:3

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

Romans 12:16

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

1 Corinthians 10:12

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!

2Corinthians 11:29-30

Who is weak, and I do not feel weak? Who is led into sin, and I do not inwardly burn? If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.

Galatians 6:3-5

If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load.

James 4:5-7

Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely? But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

James 4:10

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Jude 1:13

They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever. Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: “See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” These men are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.

Brothers and sisters give the Lord credit, glory and thanks for all things.

The Lord can make or break you and in either case give thinks. He is doing things in your life to bring you closer to Him, so give thanks.

Pride is unbecoming for a Christian.
